Anyway, rather than try to catch up, recap or otherwise fill in the gap -- because really, it's been two years, who cares? -- we here at WordNerdGirl enterprises (and by we I mean me) are just going to hit the reset button and try again. Stuff happened. We'll catch up.
Right around the time I went AWOL is when I started really working at poetry seriously, on my own. I was reading and writing fairly steadily for about 18 months. I even had one published at Every Day Poets, which was kind of cool. But since then, I have not done any creative writing of any kind for about a year or so now.

I've never done this before. Because I'll be writing a poem a day in the middle of 217 other things, this will definitely be a quantity-over-quality exercise. Short form poems will rule the day. Lots of haikus. Maybe some "There once was a man from Nantuckets..." if I get stuck. But mostly, I hope to explore more than just haikus and limericks. I tend to get very serious when writing poetry. I'd like to inject more Dorothy Parker and Dr. Seuss into my verse. Or, ohh! Even better... combine them:
"Time doth flit.Oh yeah... that needs work.
Oh Shit"

So, I'm not promising good poetry. Or eloquent poetry. But it will be daily poetry. And hopefully, fun. At least for me. The upside for you, Dear Reader, is that if it's really bad, you're always just one click away from a screaming goat video.
