When Nothing Comes
NaPoWriMo, Day 8
When nothing comes
and you're feeling the gun,
when the world kicks your ass,
and you're just out of gas
when it's no longer fun,
it's okay to be done,
And just be.

Notes on the Poem:
I had soooo many brilliant ideas and insights today. It was gonna be a big ol' poetry-paloosa. But then my school district's transportation department hijacked my kid for an hour (we got him back -- but really, no one at his school and neither me or his dad could get hold of anyone in transportation to find out where the hell he was for over an hour.) And now I have the mother of all migraines. It's, like, a full-body migraine. I really wanted to do more today, but this is the best I got. Hopefully better tomorrow.
Other blogs to check out:
But, while I'm thinking of it. I have a couple more friends who are jumping onto the NaPoWriMo/Poetry month celebration bandwagon. Please check out my friend Jenn M. and her deliciously wicked sense of humor at her and love of Shakespeare 31and3 blog and Michael L. at his blog, especially this great poem he posted today, called Alone Together. (I love Michael's idea for a traveller's e-book of poems!) Also Jacqui M is creating poems at her blog with an awesome name, Nearly Buddhist. and, of course, my mentor/interior decorator and "fairy jobmother" Noreen B always has lots of creative things going on at Roderama.
